Fletching of Arrows Hi everyone, the equipment will be coming this Thursday. Zijie will be helping us to receive the equipment and issuing it out. Not all the items are here, for example the limbs and some fletches. I apologies for the late delivery of the equipment. The supplier didn't deliver as promised. Below are some of the methods to fix up your new arrow. Know them by the back of your hand. IMPORTANT : Those who have not paid , please do so to HuiFang; if not you cannot take your equipment on Thursday. We are very strict on it . How to fix your nock and point on your new arrow. Tools needed: A Flame torch A pair of pliers (for beginner) A Hot glue A packet/roll of tissues or piece of cloth (optional) 1. Tighten the nock carefully at the rear end of the shaft by insert them right to the bottom. Use glue for the ones with rear cone. With the insert nocks you don't have to use glue at all. 2. Heat up the point to be able to spread the melting glue on top of it (below). 3.
A Vid on how they make traditional bows (:
Dear archers, First semester's almost up,which means semester fee's long over due. Everyone is to bring $25 this Saturday and pass it to Hui Fang,I don't wish to see her going up to you one by one to collect the fee. For committee members pay $20. Alright as we all know exams are closing up day by day,so next Saturday will be the last day of training, training will resume right after the exams. So for archers who've yet to submit your indemnity form for the camp please do so ASAP . Pesta Sukan will be at the end of August, which means we only have less than 2 weeks to train after exams;so do your own sets and core training at home to get ready for the training camp. Happy shooting/studying Thanks, Shawn
It's so quiet now here, how about the vid of the world fastest car to kick up some discussion ? (:
For this coming Thursday training, Seniors :please train on the 50m;Because drills will be at 50m & 30m this sat. Juniors : Always aim to get better grouping not better scores . I notice that some of you guys were into scores taking , comparing who's better and who's not.. This is not encouraged ; focus on getting your form right and getting tight grouping. For those who have their own bows; if have the chance, please go shoot 30m with sights. Those who do not have sights, please shoot at a shorter distance. And make sure you always ask permission to shoot at 30m from your mentors or the seniors at the field-(to ensure that you have some kind of support if you go haywire; you get what i mean) -benjamin
This is how Danny Chang's bow reacts when he is shooting.. Does anyone still want to get a NEXUS ? PS:All bows react like that, not just danny's.
For this coming Saturday's training. Please bring: Towel & bottle Training will be at 9am After this Saturday, We will be looking through and taking out names from the NAME LIST of those who haven't been coming for training for a long time. If your name is taken out, it means you are no longer part of this club. Regards

You guys can see how far we are running.. You will also get an idea of how full campus would look like. Click here to see the entire map of Ngee Ann Poly & compare yourself. After you see that, you'd understand that hitting full campus run in 2 months time is realistic (: If you can run 3 rounds of that small round , i do not see how we can't run the Campus Run(the name sounds big only). The idea is gradual progression -it is basically what we are doing now. Work hard people ; what we are working on now is your fitness level . You need to attain a certain level of fitness (and maintain) before we can work on the skill level . Skill level is everything from your bow shooting to the bow training.(you guys are already working on it already slowly) -benjamin
Goals By Lanny Bassham How important is writing down your goals? Well. Linda Thom, Olympic champion in pistol shooting in the 1984 Olympics from Canada credits writing down her goal to win the gold as critical to her success. I had the honor of teaching her in 1983 and introducing the concept of the Goal Statement to the Canadian team in a seminar in Toronto. Here is an excerpt of Linda's article written after the 1984 games. A turning point was a clinic which I attended in February 1983. The clinic was given in Toronto by Lanny Bassham, who is a World Champion rifle shooter from the U.S. Out of his own competitive difficulties, experienced at the 1972 Olympics; he had dug around and developed what he calls, "The tools of mental management." That man really spoke to me. One thing he said was so important, "You've got to write it out. In this country and the United States too, we don't write our goals out." We're a very literate society otherwise, but

It is always nice to see people in the club coming together and mingling around becoming VERY GOOD friends. I am proud to introduce the "STICK DUO" . Holding a stick together is their trademark. There is another clique which i have yet to take their pictures , that is the all famous "team PASSION". I look forward to seeing other cliques. -benjamin
Be reminded to bring your: Water Bottle .5litre Towel A dollar coin just in case u are late Attention to all mentors: If possible, please teach your Juniors how to use the sight this coming Saturday. Your Juniors must by 12th July know how to use the sight. A mini competition will be held for the juniors in about 2 week's time.(date not confirmed) Juniors: If you still do not know how to use the sight by 12th July, you are lagging behind already. Please take the initiative to ask your mentor or other seniors to teach you( that is if you mentor permits you). -benjamin
Dear archers, Sorry I was sick and wasn’t able to post this earlier.. Anyway, I would like to thank everyone who gave you all to help out during The Pinnacle last Saturday. Be it the seniors who were in charge of the lanes (while looking at the contestants), as well as the juniors who prepared the balloons (I know you guys had to squeeze out every inch of breadth). All in all, The Pinnacle was smooth flowing without any major disruptions. I hope such events would foster team spirit and allow us to not only achieve in competitions, but achieve together as a professional and promising club as well. Thank you. -Jialin
