As the club is running low on funds, can i have those who haven't paid last semester's club fund to make payment to Huifang by this Thursday. If you're unsure as to whether you've paid, do check your names out with her. The club will follow a more stringent approach for semester fees collection, an additional 5 dollars will be collected after every 7 days of late payment. Danny
Hi archers The last training day is changed to 7th february. A trial will be conducted on that day to select archers to go to the NTU shoot on 28 feb and 1st of march. Any archer who is unable to attend training on that day should take their own score before trials and give it to the vice captains in charge on that particular day. For your info, there will not be any training on this saturday, 31 jan, as it has been given away to the HS for some event. Training will resume this coming thursday. Hao xin will be taking charge. zijie

For those who are thinking of getting/or already bought the Apecs Riser , here are some reviews to look upon. Always do your research, never be like a sheep and follow blindly what others use. Whats good for them may not be good for you too. Be street smart. http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=800434 http://www.archery-forum.com/showthread.php?t=25379 For those whom already bought/ordered . I hope you know that the riser has some trick to it that differentiates itself from what we have in the market so far. -Benjamin
For those who have access to posting on this blog. Please indicate your name after you finish posting. This is for the benefit for those reading it. Regards Benjamin
With regards to tomorrow's training/friendly, i would like the club to be synchronized. Meaning to say, attire would be Blue jersey for the top and white shorts for bottom. Everybody is to assemble at the field by 8am to do finishing touches as well as a few warm up practice shooting. Latecomers would not be condoned. One more point.. be friendly to our guests and also display good sportsmanship after the match.

IMPORTANT!

This sat will be the mock shoot with NTU. The archers listed below, please report at 8.15am sharp to prepare yourselves. The shoot will commence at 9am sharp. As such, the other archers need not bring bows to sch on sat as i suppose this might end quite late unless you all want to shoot after everything. Lastly, the other archers will also have to come down at around 8.45am so that you all can witness the standards of NTU yourselves. All seniors, please report not later than 8.30am so to help out the juniors that are shooting. Ranking round is in the morning, followed by IKO, TKO and mixed team in the noon. You all will be shooting D30m, 122 cm target face. The mixed team format goes like this: total will have 4 ends, each end is 80secs, each archers will shoot 2 arrows. Only those arrows that enter the yellow zone will be accounted for. Each arrow is one point. Novice No. Recurve Male Team Team Mixed 1 Choo Hao Xin NP - 1 NP -A 2 Tan Jin Teck NP - 1 NP -
As we all know, the NTU competition's coming up real soon. This could very well be the only solid week for every single one of us to train, so do put in the hard work. We're all in the race against time.. you are, so am i. So, lets take whatever we've got at hand, and make the best out of it. To all committee members.. Can i have all of you to come down for thursday's training. We'll have a meeting on our KPIs for the year 2009 after training. Danny

Training as hard as bruce lee

The force is strong with this one. Training is tough, Bruce lee obviously trained a lot before being able to hit the balls so precisely. Same applies to archery. Success comes with hard work. Train hard for you IVP.

Clarifications

To all archers who have been wrongfully marked "absent" by your lecturers, fret not, your grievances would be resolved. Here's what happened: Alot of other clubs had last minute submissions which then clogged up the SDAR system, thus they had to resend the emails. Inform your lecturers to check their mails these few days if you've skipped their lessons for the open house. If there're any further implications after the next week, come straight to me. We'll have a meet-the-incharge session with your respective lecturers. Danny
I'll be at the field tml at ard 4pm to shoot. I'll try to help anyone that goes to train tml. zijie
due to the weather today, we will postpone the maintenance before Thursday training. report at 4 pm thanks tongaun
Can i have everyone who has paid money for the open house event to pass their respective reciepts to Huifang latest by this coming Thursday, 15 January 2009. Failure to comply will result in loss of funds. In other words, your money's lost.. Danny

This post is a little too late but.. all those on Saturday's open house session, it's the last day of the open house already so make something positive out of the entire event. For the rest of the archers, it'll be very nice if all of you can help out with the open house by promoting Archery, the NP Challenge as well as the open house black cards to every secondary school students. If the queue at our booth is too big, take the initiative to promote other clubs such as netball so that they can first try out the netball booth, then come over to archery. Because it will be the last day, i don't expect to see anyone being very free. Delegate duties amongst yourselves, like some can teach, some to promote, some to distribute black cards, etc. Any suggestions can be brought up to Zijie for better efficacy, he will be the overall in-charge for Saturday's session, show him your utmost cooperation and do a good job for the finale. Danny
REMINDER TO ALL ARCHERS INVOLVED IN THE OPEN HOUSE.. There will be strictly no shooting unless it's really really bad that no one's coming over (which is retardedly impossible) or when crowd attraction is necessary. Everyone is to be extremely PROACTIVE and INTERACTIVE to our fellow participants but do not overdo it. Looking forward to a successful open house 2009 with everyone in Ngee Ann archery Danny
Strings are needed from the archers for this coming open house, because the club dont have enough strings. Please offer to lend your string. Dont worry as the crowd will be using hunter style so their mouth wont touch your string. 66 and 68 cm string are needed. if have just leave me a msg or at the tag box thanks tongaun

For the upcoming open house, the club and the crowd would have tremendous expectations resting on us. Attire for the open house are as follows: Thurday[8Jan2009] - Competition Blue Jersey/Jeans Friday[9Jan2009] - Training Camp T/Jeans Saturday[10Jan2009] - Competition Blue Jersey/Jeans Those without the Training Camp T, do take the initiative to ask around for borrowing and return them in as good a condition as passed to you. Be in proper footwear which means to say, SHOES! P.S. The main thing is to look good. Danny
Archers, please note that there will be training at 5pm sharp tml. Please produce a valid reason if you are unable to turn up. Since tue is given away to avionics club, tml will be PT day. On the other hand, if you all would like to shoot, you all are allowed to do so before 5pm. zi jie
Hi archers, Be at the atrium field at 4pm on this coming Wednesday to help out with the decorations of our open house booth and the shifting of boards. For those who do not know where the field is located, it is located beside the street soccer court and in front of NP main bus stop. Archers with medals are also required to bring these medals down - most preferably gold, to flaunt NP archery club's achievements. Anyone who has garlands, used to coil around the x'mas tree for decorations, please contact me at 92322022 asap. Cheers, Jin Teck
Committee members, do assemble at canteen 2 at about 4.45pm and we'll proceed on to meet Ms. June together. Those coming later, do produce a valid reason as it will be a rather important meeting.

The Will to Excel

Hey Archers, Since it's a new year, and we are all in the mood to start in the right mood, as shared by our President Chang and Captain Tin, I would also like to add in to the words shared by the two of them. Although NP archery now has already secured a foothold in the local archery scene, it is absolutely imperative that we hold on to it. Although we have won POL-ITE 2 years in a row, it does not mean that we will win it again, especially when the other institutes of education is currently catching up. We have all probably heard of the chinese idiom, "To start a business is difficult, to guard the business is even tougher" The same goes for archery, it was tough for us to reach our current standings, it will be even tougher in future to maintain. When I was back in Secondary School, in my Boys' Brigade unit, my CSM used to say, "Tough times don't last, Tough Man do" These words goes the same towards your training. It might take days, weeks, possibly mo
Announcement to all committee members! The meeting with Ms. June would be on this coming Monday, 5 Jan 2009, 5pm at the SDAR meeting room. Danny
As you all may or may not know, the long awaited 2009's open house would be on this coming Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I'll need everybody to join heads together after Saturday's training to plan the decorations and helpers to decorate the booth on Wednesday 4pm onwards. If you're unable to come for training this coming Saturday, do give your captain a valid reason. Thank you, Danny
Archers, i noticed a significant drop in the number of people attending the past few trainings. I AM DEFINITELY NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT. This is not a club which you choose when you want to come or when not to come. Actions need to be taken against those that do not come for trainings. I will give those MIA people a months time to prove to me if they are really committed starting from the very first training when school reopens. If i do not see an improvement on the attendance after one month, i shall not hesitate to take them out of the club. What we need are hardworking and dedicated archers. I would also like to stress about something on the current active archers too. Results do not come from just a few trainings and that's it. There will only be results when sufficient effort is put in. Although hardwork may not necessarily equates to results. It's at least the best you can do at the current level to get a consistant form and a tighter grouping. If you all cannot take time out
To all the committee members, There will tentatively be a meeting with Ms. June this coming Wednesday, 7 jan 2009, at 5pm. It is still unconfirmed but do reserve the day free till further notice. Thanks Danny
