SATURDAY'S TRAINING

Dear NP archers, There are a few things to take note for this Saturday's training. Our training venue has been moved to Zhenghua Range from this Saturday onwards, which is located right beside SEGAR LRT station. Warm up will start at 9.30am sharp ; SENIORS are to reach the range by 9am . Training will be extended till 2.30pm , which includes a lunch break (12pm to 1pm), for all competitive archers. All archers are to bring their water bottle along. All Juniors are to wear white shirt and black/dark blue short with running shoes for all Saturday's trainings. Girls, please bring an extra shirt in case of rain, preferably dark-coloured. Those who have not fully paid for their equipment yet, please do so by this Saturday. For those who are assigned to bring the school equipment, please remember to bring them. Thank you. * As the nearest "usable" toliet is about 400m away from the range, so maybe you guys will like to pee and poo before training starts. :)

How to Fix your Points into your Shatfs

Dear all, For those of you who bought your arrows, here's a DIY list. Just follow the instructions and i am sure you will be shooting on Tuesday. Prepare the items : your points( a.k.a arrow heads), hot melt glue(you can find this in any DIY store ), fire(you can use your house stove though). First, you heat the stick of hot melt at the tip (btw it comes in sticks, if you're getting it in other forms, it is probably the wrong one). Here's the tricky part, you are supposed you use your fingers to hold the tip of the point (the sharp part) and wrap the other end with a layer of glue. Before the glue hardens again, you quickly push it into the shaft. The excess glue will roll up and you can remove it when it dries by just pulling it. But if you were not successful in pushing the point in when it is still in liquid form, you can re-heat the point. Bare in mind to reheat the point , not the shaft, because you will damage the quality of the arrows. Once you reheat the point, tha

Hello Ngee Ann Archers, For this Saturday's training, it will be held in school . We will be splitting you guys into groups . All to wear your sports shoes. Bring your water bottles and fill them up. Bring money to pay for the arrows and for the bows. For those who have their own bows, bring them along. Come with a positive attitude , to learn. Training starts the same time at 9.00am. Seniors to come at 8.30am to help set the place up. -benjamin
Hey guys, The camp T-shirt will be given out on Saturday. =) -Bi Ling
Dear Ngee Ann Archers, I have worked out the price for the arrows with the dealer already. Please bring $87 on saturday. $85 for the arrows and $2 to contribute as club fund for the service - helping you to get the arrows at a low price. You will be recieving nocks (which is the end of the arrow where you 'click' it onto your string), the points and the shaft . It will not come with the fletches ( the rubber 'feather' that comes in many different colours). Note: Everything will come in a dozen. The fletches are sold at $16/100pcs.If you want to buy in lesser quantity, you can go to Coach George. It comes in 100, therefore i will suggest you guys to share among yourselves. Perhaps each of you can buy different colours and exchange them and use them for your index fletch. You can borrow the school's arrow jig to 'glue' the fletch onto your shaft. If you have anything that you are unsure of, you can ask any of the seniors in the club when they have time. I a

Dear NP Archers, i would like to apologise for the post dated 16 june where i asked to book the field. I noticed that i ended the post saying if you don't sms me , you don't shoot and that was a little too harsh. What i am trying to do is that i need the number of people coming for training, at least i can have a rough gauge . For those who are interested in getting arrows, please come on Tuesday . There are important things that i have to explain. Lastest price quoted from another dealer- $82 . =) -Benjamin

Dear fellow archers, There will be optional training for those who are interested on Tuesday and Thursday from 9am till 7pm in the night. Those who saw this blog, please take time to book the field from 9am in the morning till 7pm. You can log in through https://npalstudent.np.edu.sg/npstudent/signon.asp , go to blk50 field and book the entire day, the catch to this is that 1 person can only book 1 hr, so i need 10 people's name to book the whole day . Lastly, those who are coming for Tuesday's training , you are to SMS me. Failing which, you don't shoot. -benjamin
